The Food Ministry at Good Shepherd/El Buen Pastor Lutheran Church is part of our broader Community Outreach Ministries and reflects our congregation’s mission to serve with compassion and dignity. This ministry exists to offer consistent, respectful access to food assistance for individuals and families in need, operating the church’s food pantry in alignment with our calling to love and serve our neighbors. Rooted in the ELCA’s commitment to hunger ministries, the Food Ministry seeks to address food insecurity while embodying Christian hospitality. The ministry functions under the oversight of a designated committee, which ensures the pantry operates effectively and ethically, and reports regularly to the Congregational Council through a liaison.
